What is BodyTite?

BodyTite by InMode is a state-of-the-art body contouring treatment that can provide exceptional results with limited scarring for qualified candidates. The minimally invasive procedure utilizes radiofrequency (RF) technology to gently heat the skin and underlying tissue in the treatment area via a specialized wand. For improved results, the device is able to incorporate liposuction, as well. Ultimately, patients can attain remarkable body contouring results through BodyTite’s combined application of RF energy and liposuction.

To learn more about BodyTite, please review the information below. For more detailed and personalized information, we encourage you to schedule a consultation with our experienced plastic surgeon, Dr. Thomas Lintner.

What Are the Benefits of BodyTite?

Unlike liposuction alone, BodyTite uses RF energy and liposuction simultaneously to achieve enhanced outcomes similar to that of more invasive body contouring procedures. Most patients experience minimal scarring, since only small incisions are typically needed. Additionally, BodyTite’s advanced RF technology is designed to liquefy fat, which allows for easier removal with liposuction. Dr. Lintner can also use the RF heat to strategically tighten and tone skin and supporting structures in the targeted area. For improved safety, BodyTite’s real-time tracking enables Dr. Lintner to carefully monitor the temperature of skin and tissues throughout treatment.

BodyTite vs. Vaser Liposuction

With all of the different liposuction options currently available, it can be difficult to know which one will be most beneficial for you. One of the most commonly offered types of advanced liposuction treatments is VASER® LipoSelection®, which is a type of ultrasound-assisted liposuction (UAL). VASER® liposuction uses ultrasonic energy during treatment to help break up fat cells for more efficient removal. Unlike VASER® liposuction, BodyTite is a type of radiofrequency-assisted liposuction (RFAL), meaning RF energy is used to liquefy and destroy targeted fat cells prior to removal via liposuction. The RF energy also provides an additional benefit of skin tightening, which cannot be accomplished with a UAL treatment like VASER® liposuction. BodyTite’s real-time tracking, as well as its ability to simultaneously heat tissues both above and below the surface of the skin further set it apart from other RFAL treatments, as well.

Who is a Good Candidate for BodyTite?

Individuals who are at or near a healthy weight but have localized pockets of fat and mild to moderate skin laxity are usually considered good candidates for the BodyTite procedure. Patients should be in good overall health, as well. Although BodyTite is often used as a minimally invasive alternative to body contouring procedures such as brachioplasty (arm lift) and tummy tuck, Dr. Lintner can help you determine whether or not BodyTite can successfully address your concerns. If BodyTite is not right for you, Dr. Lintner may suggest another procedure that is better suited to meet your expectations.

How is the BodyTite Procedure Performed?

Unlike more invasive procedures, BodyTite does not require skin excision in order to achieve desired body contouring results. BodyTite can be performed under local anesthesia or light sedation. If needed, additional medication can be used to reduce anxiety and improve comfort. During the procedure, part of the specialized wand is inserted beneath the skin through a small incision. This portion of the device is used to apply RF heat subcutaneously in the targeted area, as well as remove liquified fat via liposuction. The external portion of the device is used concurrently to administer RF energy along the surface of the skin. The length of the procedure can vary, depending on the size of the treatment area(s)—a more accurate overview of what to expect can be provided during your consultation with Dr. Lintner.

What is BodyTite Recovery Like?

Following a BodyTite procedure, compression garments may be recommended to encourage proper healing. Recovery is generally less extensive compared to more invasive body contouring procedures such as a tummy tuck or arm lift. Some bruising and/or swelling may occur in and around the treated area, but this should subside over time. Dr. Lintner recommends that patients avoid strenuous activities for at least one or two weeks after their procedure. He can provide you with more specific and personalized aftercare instructions prior to surgery.

How Much Does BodyTite Cost?

Although the cost of BodyTite can vary based on each patient’s individual needs, the average cost of BodyTite at our practice is approximately $2,600 to $4,800 depending on the area being treated. During your initial consultation with Dr. Lintner, a customized treatment plan will be created, enabling us to provide you with a more accurate price estimate.
